Responsibilities:

TELECOMMUNICATION TECHNICIAN IV

Responsibility:

Manage and supervise installation crew and maintain progress and cost reports, technical presentations and provide accurate as-built drawings, administration documentation, and test results for final delivery.

Education:

Minimum of High School Diploma, Two-year technical degree preferred or industry and or military training and certifications.

Minimum Experience:

  • Ability to interpret and perform tasks outlined in vendor documentation, technical specifications, and network practices, engineering letters and job aids. Knowledge of telephony networks include DS1, DS3, OC, and various IP networks. Dexterity to connect and disconnect various sizes and types of electronic connectors
  • Ability to work in overhead rack or grid for extended periods of time pulling long lengths of heavy cables
  • Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 50lbs independently and up to 90 lbs. with assistance, as necessary.
  • Ability to climb ladders and steep staircases, including scissor lifts. Ability to multi-task and maintain composure in stressful and demanding work environments

Minimum Education:

High School Diploma: A minimum of eight (8) years of cabling experience in the communications industry is required.

Minimum Training/Certification:

BICSI-certified ITS Technician or Industry equivalent experience.

  • Serve as the single point of contact to the on-site Project Manager

  • Make corrections where test results indicate nonconforming results. In the absence of the Technician III, provide temporary supervision of installation crew

High School Graduate.

OVERVIEW

VFI is seeking to contract a Cisco Network Technician to support the network infrastructure modernization effort underway at the US Army approved site at Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan.  The implementation involves remediation of all supporting telecommunications rooms ISP, infrastructure, installation of new Cisco switches, network testing, and program management support.  The position will support two deployments of sixty to ninety days to Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan.

DUTIES

  • Staging, provision, installation, and cutover of new Cisco switches and ancillary hardware
  • Support Telecommunications Room (TR) remediation activities including; electrical and network cabling, cable management, installing fiber patch panels, cable labeling, grounding and bonding, installation of UPS equipment and environment alarms, installation of racks, and identifying non-compliant or non-functioning equipment
  • Support network testing activities
  • Support ancillary tasks required to complete all work to include but not limited to Program Management Support, Configuration Management, Site Surveys, Cybersecurity, and Logistics
  • Update network documentation including Red-Line Drawings, As-Built Diagrams, and Cable Route Diagrams

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Certification or equivalent experience
  • DoD 8570.01-M Level II (Security +) certification and associated CE certificate
  • 5 years’ experience installing, administering, and maintaining Cisco network equipment in a datacenter or enterprise environment
  • Knowledgeable with switching and routing concepts including BGP, OSPG, DMVPN, tunnels, and VLAN’s
  • Strong understanding of WAN, CAN, and LAN architectures

VFI seeks an experienced Help Desk Operations Manager responsible for leading the Call Center agent and Field Services teams supporting computer operations and IT helpdesk, administration and internal support of the PCs, laptops, phones, printers, servers, telephones, and related systems for a US Federal Government client

Projects and tasks include end-user support, supporting both an office environment and remote users, license tracking, performing PC maintenance, upgrades, and configurations, installing hardware and software, and other duties as assigned.

The role is responsible for managing the groups solving Tier 1 and Tier 2 end-user hardware/software, network-related issues, and computer operators when problems arrive and will escalate issues as needed to find solutions. Qualified candidates will have a strong understanding of Windows and Networking.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage computer operators' activities. Includes monitoring service desk and NOC activities (server backups)
  • Manage support and assist end-users, local, and remote in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Create, maintain, and monitor service tickets for all customer interactions through to closure.
  • Manage outstanding requests and ensure timely resolution.
  • Performs analysis and administration in the planning and deploy of PC Equipment maintenance, upgrades, and patches.

As this position supports a US Federal Government client, strong proficiency in English and US Citizenship is required. The successful candidate must be capable of obtaining and maintaining a Federal Government security clearance.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Four-year college or university degree desirable and at least four years of similar work experience in a supervisory or management role is required. Equivalent combination of education and experience of at least eight (8) total years is required.

VFI seeks an experience Help Desk Lead who is a customer-oriented IT professional to provide direct supervision of Call Center agents for a US Federal Government client. You will solve technical problems and provide support for all assigned areas. The goal is to make sure that customer service is maintained to their high standards. You'll be responsible for ticket escalation (working advanced tickets) - escalating tickets to other teams (i.e.) networking team, datacenter team, etc. Managing SLA expectations, assigning tickets to engineers on your team, daily ticket reviews.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising and providing subject matter expertise support to a team of Call Center Help Desk agents performing the following:

  • Customer support and assistance with Dell/Apple/Android; tablets, desktops, laptops, workstations, printers and other peripheral devices, including, but not limited to, mice, keyboards, card readers, label printers and scanners.
  • Provide support and maintaining for software on Apple/Windows/Linux platforms
  • Support Data back-ups and data recovery
  • Support and assistance with network connectivity issues,
  • Firewall requests and troubleshooting.
  • Virtual Private Network (VPN) requests, including configuration and troubleshooting of VPN software.
  • Network site issues
  • Domain Name Service (DNS) issues, including troubleshooting of IP and hostname access and errors.
  • Mail Flow and Network file share requests and transfers, including mapping of share, access to share and access control changes and ability to print from drives
  • Set up, troubleshoot and schedule conferences via video chat, conference room, and web
  • Assist and support messaging and collaboration through calendars, contacts, drives, email and groups
  • Active Directory domain accounts, including user accounts and service IDs.
  • Personal Identity Verification (PIV) encryption.
  • RSA soft and hard VPN tokens, including PIN resets and resyncing of the token code.
  • High Performance Computing (HPC) soft and hard RSA tokens, including PIN resets and resyncing of the token code.
  • Cellular Support to include set up, configuration, provisioning, loading software and general issues and questions
  • Support equipment inventory management
  • Cyber Security related issues with devices flagged for virus and/or malware. This includes validation and remediation of the threat and potentially having the network port disabled to segregate the device and quarantining devices and destruction.
  • Telephone directory assistance

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have ITIL v3 certification or greater as a minimum, as well as Security +, have experience utilizing IT Service Management (ITSM) and be familiar with Microsoft/Mac/Linux and Mobile cellular device management. As this position supports a US Federal Government client, strong proficiency in English and US Citizenship is required. The successful candidate must be capable of obtaining and maintaining a Federal Government security clearance.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Four-year college or university degree desirable and at least four years of similar work experience in a supervisory or management role is required. Equivalent combination of education and experience of at least eight (8) total years is required.

VFI seeks an experienced Field Service Lead responsible for the installation / move / service / repair of computers, servers, networks (cabling, routers, switches, wireless, etc.), copiers, printers, fax machines, scanners, telephones and related systems for a US Federal Government client.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Must be able to travel to client’s sites and desk locations and perform onsite tasks.
  • Maintain records of daily data communication transactions, problems and remedial actions taken, or installation activities.
  • Install/replace and perform repairs to hardware including standard tablets, desktops, laptops and workstations, software, or peripheral equipment (Dell/Apple/Android/Creston/Smart Boards)
  • Software Knowledge (Windows/Apple/Linux/Encryption Software/VDI/Red Hat/Oracle/ect…)
  • Maintenance of Virtual Environments
  • VPN Configuration and troubleshooting
  • Conferencing for voice/video/web set up and configurations including connectivity and functionality needs
  • Imaging and device enrollment.
  • Set up equipment for employee use/network file access/data migration/backups/network printer mapping and troubleshooting, performing or ensuring proper installation of cables, operating systems, or appropriate software.
  • VPN requests, including configuration and troubleshooting of VPN software.
  • Wireless access support
  • Firewall support
  • DNS issues, including troubleshooting of IP and hostname access and errors.
  • Updates to the Network Information Center (NIC) database, as needed.
  • Setup and configuration of printers on the network
  • Cyber Security knowledge and processes, flagging devices and quarantine and handling
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs or more.
  • Must hold Valid Driver's License.
  • Must have professional conduct.
