CISCO Network Engineer

General Description

Seeking a Network Engineer to design, implement, maintain, and support a growing network infrastructure.  This position is a member of a systems engineering team responsible for designing and developing secure, scalable, and maintainable network architectures that meet business objectives and SLAs.

Location: Idaho Falls, ID

Responsibilities

  • Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS)
  • Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations
  • Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability
  • Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning
  • Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues
  • Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure
  • Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company’s security team
  • Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or 5 years equivalent experience

Certifications

  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA): Required
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP): Preferred
  • COMPTIA Security Plus: Preferred

Qualifications

USAIIT Senior Cybersecurity Engineer

Senior Cybersecurity Engineer

General Description

 Seeking a full-time Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to install and configure multiple systems and network security components, assist in developing cybersecurity policy and doctrine, and provide hands on mentoring of the cybersecurity operations staff.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the installation and configuration of network security architectures, including firewalls, router ACLs (Access Control Lists), Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), Security Information Event Management (SIEM), antivirus applications, and insider threat / data loss prevention tools
  • Mentor Cybersecurity Operations staff in developing Risk Management Framework (RMF)-based policies and procedures, and develop comprehensive cyber security processes
  • Guide technical design reviews, integration, testing, and documentation work
  • Provide technical advisory
  • Identify threats and develop suitable defense measures, evaluate system changes for security implications, and recommend enhancements, research, and draft cyber security white papers, and provide first-class support to the cyber security operations staff for resolving difficult cyber security issues

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer engineering/science required
  • 5+ years’ experience in the research, design, development, and deployment of complex software architectures and systems with a focus on full spectrum cyber security operations
  • Experience in conducting research and development of cyber capabilities for the purposes of system and application defense
  • Veteran enterprise-level security strategic planning experience
  • Knowledge of DoD (Department of Defense) 8500 series Risk Management Framework (RMF)
  • Hands on experience installing, configuring, and managing the following platforms: ArcSight ESM, Cisco Firepower Management Center and Security Manager, ESET Antivirus, Nexpose, and Metasploit

General Description
VFI is seeking an experienced Nortel/Avaya technician capable of managing the advanced programming and maintenance of switching, data communications, and peripheral equipment associated with the Nortel/Avaya M1/CS1000 product line.

Location: Idaho Falls, ID

Responsibilities
• Installation, operation, and maintenance of the switching, data communications, and peripheral equipment associated with the Meridian 1/CS1000 PBX
• Coordinating the installation, testing, and troubleshooting of transport facilities (OC48, T3, T1, and DSO)
• Updating daily logs
• Composing clear and concise reports
• Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations
• Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability
• Provide support and troubleshooting to resolve issues
• Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure

Education / Experience

• Intermediate training in at least 3 of the following areas: data communications, digital communications, operating systems and applications, telecommunications, computer support, or project management
• Experience in LAN/WAN operations and IP connectivity
• Demonstrated knowledge of computer systems, stored program control, and power
Qualifications
• Possess or qualify for a DoE L Clearance
• Strong understanding of computer network concepts

General Description

VFI is seeking an experienced, full-time Telecommunications Designer with Building Industry Consulting Service International (BICSI) Registered Communication Distribution Designer (RCDD) Certification to supervise the technical aspects of a facility wide network infrastructure installation. This position will require judgment and application of non-routine and complex nature under the supervision of the project engineer.

Duration: 12 to 18 months

Pay Rate: $35 to $37

Responsibilities

The Telecommunications Designer responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring that all installation tasks adhere to industry standards
  • Performing on-site random checks at a recurring basis throughout the installation phase of the project
  • Developing a punch list of corrective items
  • Conducting a final acceptance walkthrough with the customer representative
  • Develop, manage, and validate drawing changes and coordinate the cable design
  • Collaborate with project engineer to produce engineering estimates, bid specifications, prepare specifications, plans, and cost estimates

Education / Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with DoD, National, EIA/TIA and Building Industry Consulting Service International (BICSI) technical and Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) safety standards
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with telephony networks, include DS1, DS3, OC, and various IP networks
  • General knowledge of operating principles of wired, wireless and RF environments.
  • Wireless network (802.11b/g/a/n, WLAN/WWAN/WMAN) survey/deployment/support experience is preferred.
  • Possess a general knowledge of wired/wireless equipment installation and basic testing methods and procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong time management, coordination, critical thinking, and organizational skills
  • Working knowledge in MS Office product lines, Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, and Visio
